From Garden to Landscape

Integrating a designed garden into the wider landscape is ultra-important.

To achieve this fruit trees were placed in the borders and lawns to visually connect to the orchard beyond. As the designed borders approached the wider landscape planting became more textural, more fluid. Large boulders recovered from site were placed within the border as seating, and were used to retain steeply planted banks below the orchard. Terracing near the orchards is a more rustic limestone than more formal spaces near the house.
